The program comes with a decent assortment of drawing tools, including the usual line, oval, freehand drawing, and rectangle tools. A path tool lets you add control points as needed. Because Creator2 was developed originally as a display-advertising layout program, some tools are unique, such as a border tool with nearly 400 patterns, and a starburst tool. Modification tools include crop, reshape, rotate, flip, and skew. Instead of picture boxes, Creator2 uses a containment tool, which lets you turn any drawing object or text into a container holding any graphic, text, or both. There's also a nice Auto-Mask feature, which snips out the background of imported graphics. Other than this feature and good control over gradient fills and drop shadows, Creator2 doesn't have much in the way of manipulation abilities for bitmapped graphics. At the least, Multi-Ad should consider adding some control over levels and color balance. Many features set Creator2 apart from its better known competitors. The program has virtually unlimited undo and redo. You can have multiple page sizes within one documenta great feature for producing an ad in several different sizes. You can also view CMYK and spot color separations on screen rather than printing them out. Creator2 is not only scriptable but also recordable via AppleScript, making it much easier to automate repetitive tasks. With all of Creator2's capabilities, the things it doesn't do are surprising.
